Federal election 2025
Preparations are in full swing
The electoral roll is drawn up on 12 January. It will include all Germans registered in Beckum who have reached the age of 18. The 19 polling stations on election day will be the same as for the European elections, with one exception. Those entitled to vote in constituency 1 - city centre - can once again go to the polling station in Beckum town hall (Alleestraße entrance) as usual. For the European elections, the polling station was exceptionally relocated to the adult education centre due to the 800th anniversary celebrations in June 2024.
Election notifications will be distributed from 22 January. Anyone wishing to vote by post must apply for a so-called polling card at the Citizens' Office. There is no need to wait for the polling card to be sent out before applying. An informal application, letter or email is sufficient; however, an application by telephone is not permitted. When applying, the first name, surname, date of birth and home address must be provided.
Eligible voters with a disability can be assisted by another person when submitting their application.
Online applications for polling cards can be submitted from 13 January. Due to the shortened statutory deadlines, postal voting documents will be sent or issued from 10 February at the earliest, as the deadline for decisions on objections to the admission of nominations runs up to and including 30 January. The ballot papers can only be printed after this date. For this reason, the postal voting offices in the adult education centre and in Neubeckum town hall will not open for postal voting on site until 10 February.
