    All children born in Beckum are to be registered by the registry office of the city of Beckum.

    Please note that a telephone appointment is necessary for birth registration. Here you will receive all the information about which documents have to be presented at the birth registration.

     

    Documents to be submitted:

    • Parents' identity card or passport
    • Identity card or passport for EU citizens
    • Passport and residence permit for all other states
    • If these documents are not available, documents issued by the foreigners authorities, such as a travel document or a residence permit with the corresponding residence title, can be presented as a substitute.
    • Birth announcement from the patient administration or midwife
    • Birth certificates of the parents, in the case of married parents additionally the marriage certificate or a copy from the family register (before2009) in the original
    • If the mother is divorced, a current marriage certificate with annotation of dissolution is required.
    • Foreign documents must be presented in the original, as an international document or with a certified translation and, if necessary, with an apostille or legalisation (all documents will be returned to you in the original)
    • If the mother is single and a father is to be entered on the birth certificate, an acknowledgement of paternity is required (Youth Welfare Office and Registry Office).
    • If parental custody is to be exercised jointly, a custody declaration must also be submitted (only Youth Welfare Office).
    • The fee for the birth certificate is 10,- Euro, the fee for further certificates on the same day is 5,- Euro per certificate.
    • You will receive one certificate free of charge for applying for child benefit, parental allowance and for submission to the mother's health insurance fund.

    When certifying newborn children, private international law (IPR) must regularly be observed. The presentation of the required certificates and documents may vary and be subject to special requirements (apostille, legalisation). For this reason, not all possible case constellations can be listed here.
