Open all-day

All five primary schools in Beckum offer extensive extracurricular activities in cooperation with the respective provider as part of the open all-day school (OGS) as well as reliable care until 4:00 pm for primary school children.

The Mütterzentrum Soziales Netzwerk gGmbH is the provider of the OGS at the Martinschule, Sonnenschule, Friedrich-von-Bodelschwingh-Schule and Roncallischule. The DRK-Kreisverband Warendorf-Beckum e.V. is the provider for the Städtische Grundschule Mitte.

The OGS offer is voluntary. Registration is in writing for the duration of the primary school term, unless notice is given at the end of a school year. The number of places available is limited. There is no legal entitlement.

  • What does the OGS offer?

    The OGS has a wide range of activities:

    • Reliable childcare following regular school lessons on all school days. If required, childcare before 8:00 a.m. and after 4:00 p.m. and on school-free days
    • Supervision during the Easter and autumn holidays and three weeks during the summer holidays
    • Lunch
    • Homework supervision
    • Educational, recreational and support services

  • What does the OGS cost?

    The town of Beckum charges a public-law parental contribution for attendance at the OGS. The monthly contribution amount is based on the financial capacity of the person liable to pay the contribution. The amount of the parental contribution can be found in Appendix 2 of the parental contribution statutes for child day care.   • What obligations do the parents enter into with the registration?

    The parental contribution does not include the cost of lunch.

    After admission, there is a general obligation to attend the OGS until at least 3:00 p.m. every school day.
    Exemptions from attending the OGS are possible, for example, to participate in sports clubs, music school or for family events.
    A deregistration must be made in writing at the end of the school year (31.07.). In the current school year, deregistration is possible in justified exceptional cases.
