Energy advice support point of the NRW consumer advice centre

If you are planning to build an energy-saving house, renovate your own four walls with a view to saving energy or simply want to save energy and thus money in your home, there is a provider-independent and competent contact point in Beckum: the energy advice service of the NRW consumer advice centre.

Energy advisor Ms. Dipl.-Ing. Elke Pape advises building families, owners of old houses and tenants. The advice takes place every 14 days in the afternoon by appointment by telephone.

The counselling has three goals in mind:

  • Preserve building fabric,
  • Increase living comfort
  • and reduce energy consumption - both in new and old buildings and in rented flats.

The choice of heating system, thermal insulation from the basement to the roof and the possibilities for using solar energy (photovoltaics) including subsidies are also on the agenda, as is checking the heating costs and electricity bill. Avoiding mould is also an important topic.

But building fabric and heating technology are not solely responsible for a household's energy consumption. Optimal ventilation and heating or cutting off the unnecessary stand-by consumption of electrical appliances can also save tenants a lot of money. Energy advice is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection and is free of charge.
