  • Educational guide

The integration council of the city of Beckum adopted the educational guide in its meeting on 28 November 2018. The educational guide is intended to give parents with a migration background an understanding of the school system and an overview of the school landscape in Beckum.

  • Meeting places

Beckum is a multicultural city in which many people with a migration background have now found a home. Nevertheless, it is important that these people do not forget their origins and can continue to live their customs, traditions, language or religion. The town of Beckum therefore supports various meeting places where people from other countries of origin can continue to cultivate their home culture.

  • Integration pilots

The integration guides in Beckum support residents of different origins and ages on a voluntary basis. Some integration guides have a migration background themselves. They have already faced similar challenges as new immigrants and have had similar experiences. As trained integration guides, they can therefore provide targeted assistance in solving problems.

    Support from integration guides
Integration guides accompany people to authorities, advice centres, daycare centres, schools or doctors and support people from other cultures with their concerns. Integration guides also offer help and support with bureaucratic correspondence. They provide information about services and opportunities in the city, for example daycare centres, schools, family centres, senior citizens' facilities and cultural, educational, sports and leisure activities.
