Near-natural development of the Siechenbach in Beckum
The city of Beckum has carried out measures for the ecological improvement of the Siechenbach. In the course of this construction measure, watercourse expansion work was carried out on the existing stream above the confluence with the Kollenbach as far as the street "Siechenhausweg"; in addition, the paths were expanded and planting was carried out on the public green spaces.
The construction measure was started in July 2012. The entire work was completed in spring 2013. The renaturation was 80 percent funded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
