You will receive € 250 per month in child benefit for your child. You can apply for child benefit and child supplement at the family benefits office (Familienkasse) of the employment agency (Agentur für Arbeit) in Ahlen.

The Mothers' Centre Beckum e. V. offers a baby café, parenting courses, babysitting, counselling and childcare, playgroups, second-hand shop, and much more.
Maternity protection
As a working woman, you enjoy special protection from the beginning of your pregnancy.
You are exempt from work for six weeks before and eight weeks after the birth.

Verein zur Förderung von Familien in Krisensituationen Beckum e. V.
The Verein zur Förderung von Familien in Krisensituationen e. V. (Association for the Support of Families in Crisis Situations) was founded in 2001 by employees of the Youth Welfare Office to help families in emergency situations that cannot be supported by state or municipal funds. The association offers financial assistance in crisis situations for Beckum families. Since 2011, the annual training series "Family between fun and crisis" has been held as part of prevention, dealing with the different perspectives of parenting. The lecture series had to be cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to corona and was well attended again in 2022. The 2023 lecture series begins in August and ends in October.
