On 14 April 2026, Deutsche Telekom will begin its self-financed fibre-optic roll-out in Beckum, which is expected to be completed by April 2028.

GlasfaserPlus, a joint venture between Deutsche Telekom and IFM Global Infrastructure Fund, an expert in global infrastructure projects, laid 44 km of fibre optic cable in the Neubeckum district between 27 August 2024 and 12 July 2025. This gave 4,400 households the opportunity to access the high-speed data network free of charge. The companies involved in the expansion were Fiber Experts Deutschland GmbH and Libra GmbH from Steinfurt.

Ab sofort können die Einwohnerinnen und Einwohner in Neubeckum, die nördlich der Bahn wohnen, einen Glasfaseranschluss bei einem Anbieter ihrer Wahl buchen, da die GlasfaserPlus ihr Open-Acess-Netz allen Telekommunikationsanbietern zur Verfügung stellt. 

Die Ausbauarbeiten in diesem Gebiet sollen zwischen November 2026 und März 2027 stattfinden.
