Incumbent Michael Gerdhenrich was re-elected mayor with 53.94 per cent of the vote.

Council gets bigger
Due to the majority ratios, there are 44 seats on Beckum town council in this electoral term instead of the previous 38 due to equalising mandates: The CDU has 18 seats (previously 14), the SPD 12 seats (the party also won 12 seats in the last election), the FWG 4 seats (previously 3), Alliance 90/The Greens also 4 seats (previously 8 seats due to the transfer of a councillor from the SPD to the Greens), the FDP 3 seats (previously 2) and the Left Party, which will be entering the council for the first time, has 3 seats.

Voter turnout for the mayoral election was 52.75 per cent, and 52.77 per cent for the council election.
District level
District Administrator Dr Olaf Gericke (CDU) was confirmed in office. His challenger Sophia Maschelski-Werning (SPD) won 35.4 per cent of the vote. The following candidates from the 4 constituencies in Beckum will take part in the district council: Andreas Kühnel (CDU), Dr Ulrike Christine Keitlinghaus (CDU), Kathrin Averdung (CDU) and Christoph Tentrup-Beckstedde (CDU).
