"Hand in hand"
Festival of Cultures on 31 August
On 31 August, the traditional festival of cultures "Hand in Hand" will once again take place at the Westenfeuermarkt. The festival, organised by the Integration Council of the city of Beckum in cooperation with Innosozial Ahlen, once again offers a rich stage and hands-on programme.
"It gets bigger and more colourful every year," the organising team agrees. Modern dance and folklore, for example from Turkey or Bulgaria, Arabic singing, flute, choir or saz music: the stage programme unites many different cultures and brings the world to Beckum. Stalls on the meadow offer information and hands-on activities. For children there is a bouncy castle, face painting, games and fun. And, of course, the palate is not neglected with all kinds of delicious treats.
The festival, which is being organised by many people, will once again be a celebration of cultural diversity and encounters at eye level. The festival begins with the official opening at 1 pm and is expected to end at 6 pm. It is supported by the Wiedeking Foundation.
