Exhibition "Resentment and Healing" opens

Artists from different generations present their specific realisations of the theme of "figuration" and explore their concepts of resentment and healing. Painting, graphics and sculpture as well as cross-media forms of realisation come together to form a varied overall presentation. This also impressed Deputy Mayor Theresia Gerwing. "This exhibition offers a great wealth and richness (...). 20 artists, 20 very different approaches, techniques and statements: every wall, every room is a small universe in itself," said Gerwing in her welcoming speech.

Christoph Platz, Chairman of the West German Artists' Association, commented on the title of the exhibition: "Resentment is a nebulous term that can probably best be described as a burdensome feeling. In order to free ourselves from the many resentments in our lives, we humans need to heal." In the exhibited works, ways to healing can be surmised. Art works visually and often eludes words, Platz continued.

He also praised the opportunity to exhibit in the city museum. The exhibition "Resentment and Healing" can be seen during the opening hours of the city museum until 26 October. Admission is free.
