New parent-child programmes start
There is a new parent-child centre for parents with children in their second year. During this developmental phase, children learn to walk, speak and learn their first social skills, among other things. The supervised meeting offers parents expert support in responding appropriately to their child's new needs. It starts on 3 September. The programme will continue on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:00 pm at the Neubeckum leisure centre, Gottfried-Polysius-Straße 5. Registration is not necessary.
The "Young Parents Area" is a parent-child café for young pregnant women, teenage parents and single parents with their children. Participants can socialise in a relaxed atmosphere while the children play and exercise with their peers. The programme takes place weekly on Thursdays from 15:30 to 17:00, also at the Neubeckum leisure centre. No registration is required here either.
The play and exercise programme is aimed at parents with children from crawling age to the end of their second year. Here, children can develop their motor skills while parents get ideas for everyday life. The course takes place on Thursdays from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Alter E-Werk, Sternstraße 24, and is organised as a fixed group between school holidays. The next course is already fully booked. A new group will start on 30 October and there are still places available. Registration is required with Tanja Pröpper (proepper@beckum.de, phone 02521 29-5213) or Maria Steinhoff (steinhoff.m@beckum.de, phone 02521 29-5212).
