Posters put e-scooters in their place

E-scooters travel at speeds of up to 20 km/h and are therefore quite fast. They therefore have no place in pedestrian zones and on pavements. To make sure everyone is aware of this, posters at the entrances to Beckum's promenade are now advertising more consideration.

"In this way, we want to ensure greater clarity and safety and sensitise drivers," says Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich. There have been repeated complaints about speeding e-scooters in the city centre.

And these are the rules: The practical vehicles are allowed to ride on cycle paths, cycle lanes and cycle streets. If there are none, the carriageway may be used. A minimum age of 14 years applies and it is not permitted to take other people with you.
