NRW plants" initiative

1,000 trees for Beckum

The town of Beckum is taking part in the "NRW plants" initiative organised by the Robin Gut Foundation. The aim of this state-wide reforestation project is to plant one million new trees in North Rhine-Westphalia over the next few years, thereby strengthening climate protection and biodiversity and setting an example for social cohesion.

The town of Beckum is providing suitable planting areas. Beckum residents, companies and institutions are now being called upon to support the project with donations. The donations raised will be used to plant different native tree species on site and convert monocultures into climate-resistant mixed forests.

"We want to plant at least 1,000 additional trees and thus make a significant contribution to the overall success of the state-wide project," says Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich optimistically. The patron of "NRW plants" is Minister President Hendrik Wüst.

Donations can be made with just a few clicks via the website www.nrw-pflanzt.de. There you can also see how much money has already been raised from Beckum for the initiative.
