The reason for the meeting with Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich was the takeover of the steel construction company Gerwin Silotechnik, based in the "Auf dem Tigge" industrial estate, by Metzen Industries GmbH from Hamburg.

The head of administration honoured the lifetime achievements of the recently deceased company founder Michael Gerwin, who laid the foundations for the successful steel construction company in 1978. "With his decades of commitment as an entrepreneur, he made an important contribution to strengthening the local economy," said the head of administration.

Managing Director Funk emphasised that the takeover will not result in any fundamental changes for the approximately 150 employees: "All jobs will be retained at the Beckum site." The good order situation and the synergies between the METZEN Industries Group and Gerwin Silotechnik - particularly in the areas of conveyor technology and dedusting - also open up new prospects and strengthen their market position.

"I am very pleased that a strong partner has been found in METZEN Industries and that the integration is running smoothly. It is particularly pleasing that the Beckum site and the jobs are secure in the long term," concluded Mayor Gerdhenrich.
