Regulatory partnership

Joint control campaign for e-scooters in the city centre

Verbal warnings were issued and fines were imposed - both against e-scooter riders and cyclists. This is because cycling is only permitted at certain times.

The participants agreed that such checks should take place regularly in future. This is because many users are still not sufficiently aware of the applicable regulations.

These are the applicable rules:

  • E-scooters can be ridden on the cycle path or on the road if there is no cycle path. Riding is prohibited in pedestrian zones. Users must be at least 14 years old. Only one person may ride the e-scooter, with a maximum speed of 20 kilometres per hour. The use of mobile phones while riding is prohibited. Be careful with alcohol consumption: Under the age of 22, the drink-drive limit is zero. From the age of 22, the limit is 0.5 per mille.
  • Bicycles are only allowed in the pedestrian zone between 8 pm and 8 am. Cycling is completely prohibited on market days (Wednesday and Saturday).
