Funding for Beckum farm track
The grant is part of the funding programme of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia to promote the sustainable modernisation of rural infrastructure (FöRL Wirtschaftswege).
The town of Beckum is modernising a multifunctional farm track in the Knükel farming community in order to further improve the road infrastructure. With total eligible costs of around 702,000 euros, the district government is approving funding of around 418,000 euros (60 per cent). As the work represents an intervention in nature and the landscape, the project was agreed in advance with the lower nature conservation authority. The necessary nature conservation compensation will be implemented as part of the project.
This is according to a press release from the Münster district government.
Funding programme FöRL Wirtschaftswege
The NRW state funding programme supports municipalities in securing and further developing rural areas as places to live, work, recreate and enjoy nature. The funded measures are intended to contribute to a positive development of the agricultural structure, to the improvement of the infrastructure of rural areas and to a sustainable strengthening of the regional economy - with the integration of sustainable agriculture and forestry.
The objectives and requirements of spatial planning and state planning, nature conservation and environmental protection, demographic development and the reduction of land use must be taken into account.
One focus of the programme is on sustainable road construction measures. They are intended to strengthen the central rural infrastructure by promoting the expansion and reinforcement of existing farm tracks. The basis is a subsidised road network concept or one recognised by the Münster district government.
