General planning for outdoor pool renovation started
The aim is to fulfil the requirements of a modern outdoor pool and at the same time promote ecological and economic sustainability.
Holistic planning from a single source
With the official start of the project in the town hall, those responsible for the city of Beckum have started the planning process together with the commissioned general planning office "Planteam Ruhr" from Gelsenkirchen. The decision in favour of a general planner enables holistic planning from a single source - a decisive advantage in a complex project with numerous technical interfaces, for example between pool construction, water technology, technical building equipment and landscape architecture. This minimises coordination risks and significantly increases the quality of the overall planning.
The award procedure was preceded by a two-stage selection process: Firstly, the suitability of the applicants was assessed in a public competition. After careful evaluation of the documents, four qualified offices were invited to submit bids. The "Planteam Ruhr" office was ultimately awarded the contract.
Due to the extensive renovation work, the outdoor pool will remain closed for the coming summer season. The reopening is planned for spring 2027.
