The town of Beckum offers sponsorships for historic gravesites at Elisabethstraße cemetery - to preserve and maintain impressive gravestones.

Elisabethstraße cemetery is home to numerous impressive gravesites whose period of use has expired. Some of them are classified as particularly worthy of preservation and are characterised by imposing gravestones. In order to preserve these culturally and historically valuable sites, the town of Beckum awards grave monument sponsorships.

Interested citizens have the opportunity to take on a sponsorship and acquire the right to use the grave at a later date. In return, the sponsors undertake to maintain the grave and ensure that it is cared for by the gardeners.

Currently, 20 gravesites are classified as worthy of preservation, 11 of which are owned by the city of Beckum. In addition, a further 35 gravesites are considered worthy of preservation, 13 of which are owned by the town. Currently, 6 gravesites are already being cared for through sponsorships.
