Helpers wanted

In order to protect amphibians in the best possible way, the town of Beckum erects mobile protective fences along busy stretches of road in spring. These guide the animals into buried buckets, from which they are brought safely to the other side of the road twice a day by volunteers.

More volunteers are needed for the coming hiking season. In particular, help is needed to empty the buckets along the safety fences on Ahlener Straße and Geißlerbach at Tuttenbrocksee.

Interested helpers can already register with the City of Beckum's Environment and Greenery Department at bergeler@beckum.de and thus make an active contribution to the protection of native amphibians.
