More space for "Mein Almrausch"

As a result, the sales area has increased from 98 to around 170 square metres.

The closure of the neighbouring shop (Klatschmohn) gave owner Jutta Balke the opportunity to expand. The previous premises of "Mein Almrausch" had become too small.

Interior

With the larger rooms, "Mein Almrausch" offers an even more diverse range of products. In addition to materials for various handicrafts such as fabrics and wool, more sewing courses, crochet and knitting workshops for children and adults can also take place. There will also be themed workshops, such as "Patchwork" in October. Textiles can also be embroidered at "Mein Almrausch".

During his visit to the new shop, Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich thanked the owner of the property and the Balke couple in the presence of Helga Grothues from the city centre management: "With your expansion, you have once again made a clear commitment to the location."

Support programme for sustainable inner cities and town centres in NRW

Business from the inside

The merger was made possible by the "Sustainable inner cities and town centres in NRW" funding programme. This means that the owner is paying a reduced rent for a limited period of time, also thanks to the owner waiving the full rent. The funding programme also made it possible to finance some of the necessary renovations.
