"Music in the old vicarage" completely sold out
Aleksandra Mikulska and young talents take you into the world of virtuoso piano works
Aleksandra Mikulska did not perform alone in the old vicarage in Vellern. She was accompanied by her students Sophia Kratschkowskaja and Karolina Stachowiak as well as her student Kai Long Breker, who are recognised as exceptional talents in the music world.
The 19-year-old Kai Long Breker perfectly set the mood for the concert evening, which was presented by Aleksandra Mikulska, with a prelude and fugue in B flat major by Johann Sebastian Bach and variations by Frédéric Chopin.
The 18-year-old Sophia Kratschkowskaja also performed a prelude and fugue in E flat minor by Johann Sebastian Bach before surprising the guests with a rather unusual composition by Frédéric Chopin. Accompanied by her father on the accordion, she gave an excellent performance of the Rondo à la Krakowiak.
The second part of the concert began after the interval with mazurkas by Frédéric Chopin and Karol Szymanowski and a sonata by Dmitri Kabalevsky. The 23-year-old Karolina Stachowiak captivated the audience with her unconventional yet inspiring playing.
Aleksandra Mikulska concluded the concert evening with a Nocturne in E flat major by Frédéric Chopin and the Polonaise part of Opus 22 "Andante spianato et Grande Polonaise Brillante" by Frédéric Chopin, whose effervescent passages depict the struggle of the Polish people against the Russian oppressor.
The musician can rightly be described as a singing pianist. Despite her virtuosity, her playing is completely relaxed. Her playing is poetry on the piano.
