Double new opening on Nordstrasse
Sustainable fashion meets solar energy
The double reopening of Atelier Vaelu and PEnT GmbH will not only eliminate a vacancy in Beckum city centre, but also realise an innovative family project.

The idea arose from a shared vision of father and daughter: to bring together two Beckum-based companies that live sustainability from different perspectives. Dania Mollemeier - recently honoured with the "DesignTalente Handwerk NRW" award - now presents her fashion brand Vaelu in a central location. Vaelu stands for timeless clothing made from high-quality natural fibres, handmade in Beckum. The collection is created in the open studio on site. The range is complemented by selected gift ideas and jewellery by young artists who also stand for sustainable values.

With his PEnT GmbH, father Heinz-Josef Mollemeier brings many years of expertise in the field of renewable energies to the table. The new address on Nordstraße now offers a central point of contact for advice on all aspects of photovoltaics - at fixed times or by appointment.
After an intensive search, the two decided on the space at Nordstraße 18 - a location that now combines two sustainable concepts. The owner was also quickly convinced by this special form of business combination.
The opening of Vaelu and PEnT was supported by the ZIO "Sustainable inner cities and town centres" funding programme. Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich and Helga Grothues from the city centre management of Beckum took the opportunity to get to know the concept in person - and were impressed by the creative family idea.
This is already the 8th business that has been supported in this way.
