Innovative and liveable together

The town of Beckum is not only active locally with the topic of Smart City, but is also one of 13 municipalities that are tackling digitalisation together with the district of Warendorf.

With the Smart Region Kreis WAF strategy, the topic of Smart City is being considered beyond the city limits. This makes it even easier to implement projects.

Ein Beispiel dafür ist das geplante Interkommunale Hochwasserschutzprojekt Axtbach. Mithilfe von Sensoren lassen sich Pegelstände messen. Die dadurch erhobenen Daten helfen bei der Simulation von Hochwasserereignissen. Mit den erhobenen Daten und den Schlussfolgerungen können so frühzeitig Maßnahmen ergriffen werden. Dies ist ein Gemeinschaftsprojekt mehrerer Kommunen entlang des Gewässerverlaufs und des Kreises Warendorf.
