  • Performance specification

    Anyone wishing to operate a catering business requires a permit.
    A licence is not required for

    1. Non-alcoholic drinks
    2. free samples
    3. prepared meals or
    4. in connection with an accommodation establishment, drinks and prepared meals to house guests

    administered.

  • Required documents

    • Documents of the property

    Please bring the documents for the building in which the restaurant is located: Site plan and floor plan.

    • Clearance certificate from the tax office

    of the place where you have lived or run a business in the last three years.

    • Extract from the debtor file of the local court

    the place where you have lived or run a business in the last three years

    • Certificate of good conduct

    You can apply for the certificate of good conduct (document type -0-) directly at the Citizens' Registration Office or at the registration office in your place of residence

    • Extract from the central trade register

    You can apply for the extract directly when submitting your application at the citizens' office or at the trade office in your place of residence

    • Proof of training from the IHK

    on the main features of food law

    • Certificate from the health authority in accordance with the Infection Protection Act
  • Costs

    The fees range from €400 to €3000 for a final licence.
    The amount of the fee depends on the size of the catering establishment. There are also fees for the certificate of good conduct and the extract from the central trade register
