Sewer connection fees
Performance specification
The city of Beckum charges a one-off sewer connection fee to cover the average annual costs for the construction and expansion of the public sewage system. The sewer connection fee is levied on every property owner or authorised leaseholder whose property can be built on or used for commercial purposes and can be connected to the sewer system.
The obligation to pay the contribution arises at the time of the possibility of connection. The contribution is based on the size of the property and its structural usability. This is measured by the maximum number of full storeys that can be built on the property.
The contribution rate is currently €4.55/m² of land area for single-storey residential plots. If the legal and actual possibility of a full connection does not exist, a partial amount is charged.
This amounts to- in the case of a connection for waste water only, 70% of the contribution
- for a connection for rainwater only 30% of the contribution
- in the case of an only partially required connection for rainwater 15%.
