Grave design

  • Performance specification

Graves must always be designed in such a way that they blend in with the overall appearance of the cemetery.
No more than one third of the grave may be covered with gravel, slabs, screed, metal, plastic sheeting or similar materials. This does not apply to urn graves.
The grave borders in the park cemetery are laid by the cemetery gardeners.
At the cemetery on Elisabethstraße, the relatives are responsible for the grave borders, with the exception of a few specific grave plots.
Gravestones must be proportionate to the size of the grave. The approval of the cemetery administration in the Environment and Greenery Department is required for the erection of a gravestone.
The stonemasons in the neighbourhood usually have these applications on file. However, the form can also be requested from the cemetery administration at any time. As a rule, the application is completed by the stonemason and submitted to the cemetery administration.
If the application is approved, it is sent directly back to the stonemason.
