Assistance for asylum seekers and refugees

  • Performance specification

The services provided by the Social Welfare and Youth Welfare Office for asylum seekers and refugees include economic assistance in and outside of the transitional centres as well as social support in the transitional centres.
In the case of economic assistance, this means ensuring the regular necessities of life (so-called basic benefits) including assistance in special circumstances (e.g. medical assistance) through financial means, benefits in kind and personal assistance.
The basis for this is the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act and the Twelfth Book of the Social Code.
The target group are asylum seekers and refugees who are unable to support themselves from their own resources.
In addition, asylum seekers and refugees are supported in and outside the transitional centres. In addition to assistance in coping with their new living situation, this also includes family support, support for women and girls, child and youth care, counselling for single people and interpersonal problems.
Please make an appointment in advance by telephone for a personal counselling session or to make an application.
