Registration of a marriage
You can register your intended marriage with the relevant registry office in the place of residence of one of the fiancés no earlier than six months before the wedding date.
If you are not resident in Beckum but wish to get married there, you must submit the marriage registration to the registry office in your town or municipality, together with the necessary documents. Please contact the registry office in your place of residence and inform them that you wish to get married at the Beckum registry office.
If you are not resident in Germany, the registry office at which the marriage is to take place is responsible for registering the marriage.

During the week, the Beckum Registry Office offers wedding ceremonies at various venues, both during and outside opening hours (by appointment). Please contact us at to discuss your preferred date and venue for your civil wedding. We’ll be happy to book a date for you.

Costs
- Registration of marriage where both fiancés are German nationals: 40.00 euros
- Registration of marriage where one fiancé is a foreign national: 66.00 euros
- Marriage outside opening hours: 66.00 euros
- Marriage not conducted by the registry office in the place of residence: 40.00 euros
- Marriage certificate: 10.00 euros
- Each additional marriage certificate: 5.00 euros
- Breed register: approx. 20.00 euros – 50.00 euros
