Have you lost or found something?
Anyone who finds an object is legally obliged to report the find to the responsible regulatory authority. The lost property must be kept for 6 months. If no owner can be identified after the prescribed retention period, the finder is entitled to claim ownership.
In the event of abandonment, the City of Beckum becomes the owner. Under certain circumstances, however, the owner can demand the return of ownership within three years.

Finder's fee
The finder can demand a finder's fee from the owner; the amount depends on the value of the item found.
The right to a finder's fee is governed by private law.
