Amendment of registration certificate part 1 (vehicle registration document)

• Have you got married and taken your husband's or wife's name?
• Have you formed a civil partnership and taken the name of your partner?
• Have you taken back your former name or your birth name after a divorce?
• Have you had your name officially changed for other reasons? Have you moved house and your address has changed?

If a motor vehicle is registered in your name, the road traffic office must also be informed of the changes.
The vehicle licence must be changed. The changed data must be communicated to the road traffic office so that the vehicle register remains up to date. The vehicle licence (and the vehicle registration document only if the name has changed) must therefore be changed at the Citizens' Registration Office or at the Road Traffic Office for a fee.
If there is no space left on the vehicle registration document for a change, you must go directly to the road traffic office.
