Amendment of registration certificate part 1 (vehicle registration document)

    • Have you got married and taken your husband's or wife's name?
    • Have you formed a civil partnership and taken the name of your partner?
    • Have you taken back your former name or your birth name after a divorce?
    • Have you had your name officially changed for other reasons? Have you moved house and your address has changed?
    If a motor vehicle is registered in your name, the road traffic office must also be informed of the changes.
    The vehicle licence must be changed. The changed data must be communicated to the Road Traffic Office so that the vehicle register remains up to date. The vehicle licence must therefore be changed for a fee at the Citizens' Registration Office or at the Road Traffic Office.
    If a change has already been made to the vehicle licence, you must go directly to the road traffic office.
