Driving licence EU card exchange
Short text
Would you like to exchange your old driving licence for the new EU driving licence?
Performance specification
The new driving licence can be applied for at the citizens' office of Beckum town council.
Many drivers still have grey or pink paper driving licences. These documents will gradually lose their validity from 19 January 2022 - staggered according to the holder's year of birth. They must be replaced in good time by the EU's standardised and forgery-proof card driving licence. Holders of an older driving licence in cheque card format without an expiry date are also affected by the exchange campaign. Driving licence holders born before 1953 must exchange their driving licence by 19 January 2033, regardless of the year in which the licence was issued.
Driving licences issued up to and including 31 December 1998:
Year of birth of the licence holder Date by which the driving licence must be exchanged before 1953 19 Jan. 2033 1953 - 1958 19 July 2022 1959 - 1964 19 Jan. 2023 1965 - 1970 19 Jan. 2024 1971 or later 19 Jan. 2025 Driving licences issued from 1 January 1999:
