Driving licence - name change

  • Performance specification

    The driving licence is not an identity document. If your name has changed due to marriage or similar, you are therefore not obliged to have your driving licence changed.
    However, the driving licence office recommends that you have your driving licence changed if there is no longer a link between your identity card and your old driving licence (e.g. if you have remarried and taken on a different name and your driving licence has been issued in your previous married name).
    You must submit the application in person at the driving licence office in Warendorf, at the vehicle registration office in Beckum or at the Beckum/Neubeckum Citizens' Office.registration office in Beckum or at the Beckum/Neubeckum citizens' office.

    • Identity card or passport
    • (If your name has changed and this name is not on your identity card or passport, we need a certificate of your name change as proof)
    • 1 "biometric" current passport photo (must be no more than one year old)
