You will receive € 250 per month in child benefit for your child. You can apply for child benefit and child supplement at the family benefits office (Familienkasse) of the employment agency (Agentur für Arbeit) in Ahlen.

Inform your health insurance fund about the birth of your child.

The Mothers' Centre Beckum e. V. offers a baby café, parenting courses, babysitting, counselling and childcare, playgroups, second-hand shop, and much more.
Maternity protection
As a working woman, you enjoy special protection from the beginning of your pregnancy.
You are exempt from work for six weeks before and eight weeks after the birth.

The Verein zur Förderung von Familien in Krisensituationen e. V. was founded in 2001 by employees of the Youth Welfare Office to help families in emergency situations that cannot be supported by state or municipal funds. The organisation offers financial assistance to families in crisis situations in Beckum. Since 2011, the "Family between fun and crisis" training series has been taking place as part of the prevention programme, which focuses on the different perspectives of parenting.
