"The ghost of the stone cooler"

Once again this year, actor Tobias Winopall impressively brings the story of stone cooler Karl Schwarenhorst and his experiences in the quarry to life. Pupils from a third class hang on his every word. And the Beckumer Bauknechte also listen with rapt attention.

This one-hour theatre play brings an important part of Beckum's history to life in a special way - the beginning of the cement industry at the start of the 20th century. The town museum is the starting point for the theatrical presentation, which also includes an exciting tour of the town.

The project is part of the "Kulturstrolche" project sponsored by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and aims to introduce children and young people to cultural topics and involve them in cultural life. The programme "Der Geist des Steinkühlers" is supported by the Beckumer Bauknechte.

The "Writing Workshop" with Tobias Winopall and the scenic reading "Leseatte Lotte" with Meike Wiemann also recently took place as part of the Kulturstrolche programme.
