Successor wanted
Traditional shop "Die Goldschmiede feingold" closes after 25 years
A quarter of a century of goldsmithing, during which many individual pieces of jewellery have been designed and made, satisfied customers have returned time and time again and the next generation has learned to appreciate the goldsmiths "on site": The owner of the small, fine shop at Nordstraße 41, master goldsmith Jürgen Düphans, is retiring towards the end of the year. But that's not the end of the story. Together with the town centre management of the town of Beckum, Jürgen Düphans is looking for a successor - with the best conditions for this trade and attractive support.

This small success story began 25 years ago in Beckum's pedestrian zone, when a master goldsmith's workshop was opened. The traditional business has delighted customers for over a quarter of a century and impressed them with its highly personalised service. "After 25 years, I have now decided to either pass on my goldsmith's business or wind it up and retire," says Jürgen Düphans. "It was a wonderful time. And I'm grateful for all the encounters, the loyalty of our customers and the many wonderful moments I was able to experience here," he summarises. Helga Grothues from Beckum's town centre management team is delighted that she found out about the owner's plans so early on. This is a great opportunity to take over an established business with a loyal clientele, a central location and the possibility of promotion.
This makes it the ideal time for potential successors, says Helga Grothues, who is supporting the owner in his search for a successor. After all, there is still enough time to take a look at the business concept on site, talk to the owner and perhaps work together on a successor. The town of Beckum is also happy to help.
Low rent thanks to the support programme
Thanks to the support programme for sustainable inner cities and town centres in NRW, the rent is reduced for a maximum period of 2 years - a real start-up aid on the path to self-employment. "Anyone who wants to fulfil their dream of owning their own business can build on a solid foundation here - with the chance to continue tradition and set their own accents," says Helga Grothues.
The space itself offers all the relevant details. The furnishings are individual, flexible and ideally suited to the trade.
Support programme for sustainable city centres and town centres in NRW
The support programme is not just for start-ups. Existing companies that already have a business in another city can also take advantage of the programme. It certainly makes it easier to get started.
