Modern living on an old slaughterhouse site

Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich and employees were invited by the companies involved to see the benefits of the newly completed residential complex for themselves. "Just a short time ago, this site was characterised by a dreary industrial wasteland - today it offers modern, high-quality living space for singles, couples and families. This is what successful urban development looks like," said the mayor during the tour. In addition to the modern flats, an inner green area with a playground offers relaxed living in close proximity to the city centre.

After a good year and a half of construction, the first of the 60 flats were occupied in December. New tenants are gradually moving into Holtmarweg 16 to 16 c. "In Beckum, the cooperation with the city of Beckum was a really well-rounded affair," says Stefan Heimann, Managing Director of the Asset Group, praising the representatives of the city of Beckum. Building contractor André Gosemärker also expressed his complete satisfaction with the construction process.

With sizes ranging from 24 to 180 square metres, the flats offer space for different needs. The flats are barrier-free and have balconies or terraces. Thanks to photovoltaic systems on all 4 roofs and air heat pumps, the buildings meet the KFW 40 low-energy standard. There is space for over 70 cars and 12 e-charging stations on the outside areas and in the spacious underground car park.

Local residents should also be delighted with the new neighbourhood on the former abattoir site and the happy end to an industrial wasteland.
