Company visit

Di Matteo in dialogue with the mayor

Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich and business development officer Manuela Jakobs-Woltering visited the Di Matteo group of companies, which also includes Erhardt Industrial Services in Beckum, an iron foundry in Dingelstädt and a plant in Ilmenau. Founded in 1968 by Orlando Di Matteo, the company is now run by the second generation of the family.

During company tours at the Kerkbrede and Römerstraße sites, Managing Director Luigi di Matteo and authorised signatory Clelia di Matteo provided information about current company developments, plans and challenges. Among other things, they discussed high energy costs, global undercertainty, increasing competition from Asia and bureaucratic hurdles.

During the meeting, the head of administration emphasised how important good contact with companies is to him. "Beckum's companies not only strengthen the financial capacity of our city through their fiscal strength, but also create jobs and apprenticeships and thus offer prospects for families and young people. They also take responsibility for social cohesion - be it through voluntary work or supporting social projects. I am very happy to have a company like the Di Matteo Group in Beckum," said Gerdhenrich. The company is an example of the innovative power and strength of medium-sized companies in Beckum.
