Beckum secondary school project
Mayor takes on guest role in school series
Since February 2024, students at Beckum secondary school have had the opportunity to be part of Dominik Heyer's school film project. The series is based on the RTL series "The Teacher" and the well-known stories of the children's detectives "The Peppercorns". It is set in the fictitious "Fürst von Beckum School".
The film project is open to all pupils at Beckum secondary school who are interested in film and media. In the project, the participants develop series episodes and take on a variety of tasks: They act in front of the camera, take care of sound, camera and editing, build sets and props and work on the script. In addition, elective courses in film technology and film editing offer practical knowledge so that the young people learn how films are professionally realised - from the idea to the finished scene.
So far, two episodes have already been produced, dealing with important topics such as drug abuse and bullying. These were first presented at the end of each school year in the school canteen, and last year even in the Filou municipal theatre - a complete success for the dedicated teacher Dominik Heyer. Even the mayor Michael Gerdhenrich attended the premiere of the second instalment and was impressed by the pupils' commitment. On the day of the premiere, he himself expressed the wish to take part in a sequel - an offer that the film team gladly accepted.
Last week, the time had finally come. The scene written especially for the mayor was filmed. Preparations began the day before filming, an office was set up in the new school building, props were placed and the tripods for the cameras were set up. The following day, the cameras and microphones were installed so that everything was ready for the mayor's guest appearance. The mayor was delighted with the equipment and preparation and turned up for the shoot perfectly prepared for his role. As site manager Mr Henrichgerd, the mayor talks to the headmaster of Fürst von Beckum School (played by Sabrina Siebeneich) about recent incidents of vandalism. We can't reveal any more at this point.
However, anyone who is curious can already get exclusive insights via the Instagram channel "Filmprojekt SSB". The new headmistress of Beckum secondary school, Dr Alexandra Brintrup-Feldhaus, also came by and warmly welcomed the mayor. She was delighted with the commitment to the project and the school and was impressed by the collaboration between the team of pupils and the celebrity guest. After the filming was completed, she also presented the mayor with a small gift. A mug with the logo of the fictitious Fürst von Beckum School, filled with sweets, a tape measure and a mini spirit level - in keeping with his role as site manager.
The premiere of the third episode of "Alles nichts wert" will take place on 25 June at 5 pm in the Stadttheater. Tickets will be available from April at Beckum secondary school - the exact point of sale will be announced in good time.
