New nationwide fees for ID cards

From 7 February 2026, new fees for applying for ID cards will apply nationwide. The adjustment is based on a federal regulation and is also binding for the town of Beckum.

In future, the fee will be 46 euros for people aged 24 and over and 27.60 euros for people under 24. The fee for a temporary ID card remains unchanged at 10 euros. An additional fee of 6 euros will be charged for the creation of a digital passport photo directly at the Citizens' Office.

The reason for the nationwide increase is higher production, manufacturing and administrative costs, which are incurred in particular by Bundesdruckerei.

In some cases, additional costs may be incurred, for example for sending the ID card by post or if the application is made outside the competent authority.
