Building area "An der Steinbruchallee"
Clearing work begins
Between Neubeckumer Strasse, Zementstrasse and Oelder Strasse, a new residential neighbourhood with around 210 residential units will be built in the coming years.
To prepare for the first construction phase, clearing work will begin on Tuesday, 13 January. An area of around 2.6 hectares will be cleared. Existing trees will have to be felled and shrubs and hedges removed. The remaining huts on the former allotment site will be dismantled. A species conservation officer will be involved as part of an ecological construction monitoring programme.
The clearing work is expected to last until the end of February at the latest. Access to the construction site will be from Oelder Straße via the path between house numbers 83 and 87, which may be subject to temporary restrictions during the work.
"An der Steinbruchallee"
With the "An der Steinbruchallee" development area, the town of Beckum is creating new residential areas with good connections to local amenities, social facilities and the town centre. The plan is to develop a mixed residential neighbourhood with different types of housing. The neighbourhood will be complemented by the adjacent open space to the north-west, where a new district park with play and sports areas as well as natural green spaces are planned. Numerous new trees are to be planted and initial groves created to green up the neighbourhood.
The clearing work that is now beginning represents an important first step on the way to realising the construction area.
