IT team working round the clock
Server temporarily taken offline for security reasons
On Friday morning, an unusual error occurred on the administrative servers. As a cyberattack could not initially be ruled out, the systems were shut down completely for security reasons. The State Criminal Police Office, as well as external IT service providers and consultants, were immediately brought in. In addition, the emergency response team convened.
Extensive testing and security measures were carried out over the weekend. The experts found no evidence of malware or a data breach. Although the cause was quickly identified, all systems were subjected to further investigation to ensure absolute security. The incident was ultimately found to have been caused by a technical fault, which has since been rectified.
As no further anomalies were detected, the IT specialists gave the all-clear. All those involved emphasised that the security mechanisms had worked together reliably.
The servers will be brought back online on Monday with enhanced monitoring mechanisms. The measures had virtually no impact on members of the public. However, in isolated cases, emails sent to the local authority may not have been delivered, and senders may have received error messages to that effect.
The appointments at the constituency office scheduled for Saturday will be rescheduled. Those affected have been informed in advance.
