Guest speaker from Berlin
Your own shop in the spotlight
Around 30 owners of shops and restaurants from Beckum and Neubeckum accepted the invitation.
Using numerous examples, Albert showed how important a clear external image, an appealing shop window design and a targeted presence on social media are. To liven things up, he talked about his own beginnings with an improvised market stall, which initially failed to generate any sales - an experience from which he learned a lot.
It became clear: Visibility means more than "everyone knows our business". Questions such as: How does the shop look from the outside? Is the product range immediately recognisable? Are opening hours communicated regularly? Today, digital presence in particular is seen as a clear location advantage, as customers are increasingly researching online and making more targeted purchases.
In conclusion, Albert appealed: "Together you are the image of the city centre and benefit from each other. Join forces, support each other - even a short post or sharing a contribution is advertising for everyone."
The participants were unanimous: just get started! "I think everyone took something away with them," said Helga Grothues, city centre manager of the city of Beckum. Serena Große-Kreul and Annika Siebert from the Stadtraumkonzept office, which supports city centre management in Beckum and Neubeckum, were also satisfied.
Over canapés and drinks, the guests took the opportunity to chat and socialise. The presentation was part of a small event format. It will continue on 4 February with the "IHK vor Ort" event on the topic of "Employees as a success factor - attracting and retaining talent".
