Dog tax

  • Performance specification

If you own a dog, you are liable to pay tax as a dog owner.
This also applies to a lost dog if it is not reported to the public order office of the city of Beckum within two weeks and handed in at an office designated by the city.
Therefore, every dog owner must register the dog in writing with the City of Beckum within 2 weeks of taking it in.
If the dog was born to the dog owner from a bitch kept by him/her, the 2-week period begins after the puppy has turned 3 months old.
The 2-week period also applies to deregistration of the dog if

    • the dog has been abolished, lost or has died,
    • the dog owner has moved to another city/municipality.

Under certain conditions, dog owners are exempt from paying tax or can apply for a tax reduction.
You can register and deregister your dog at the municipal office of the city of Beckum. The relevant forms can be downloaded from this page.
