Fire Brigade General Meeting

Christian Heickmann takes over as head of the fire service

In 2001, Heickmann joined the youth fire brigade at the age of 11. Six years later, he joined the active fire brigade, and a further four years later he became a full-time firefighter. This was followed by numerous training courses and qualifications. With the successful completion of his final career examination and his appointment by Beckum Town Council, he took the next major step.

Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich offered his warm congratulations on his new post: “You know the structures, the people, the challenges and the strengths of this fire brigade. Over many years, you have demonstrated that you are technically proficient, reliable in the field and a strong leader (...). I am convinced that you will continue the developments already underway with determination, whilst at the same time bringing fresh impetus.” The head of administration wished the 36-year-old every success in his new role and, above all, that he and his colleagues would always return from their call-outs safe and sound.
