Clever wiggly teeth ask lots of questions

Does the mayor live in the town hall? What hobbies does he have? Does he build houses? The future schoolchildren from the municipal daycare centre "Die kleinen Strolche" peppered Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich with questions during their visit. They made their way to the town hall in two groups to find out what a mayor does and where he works. The head of administration patiently answered all the questions from the "clever wiggly teeth" in a child-friendly manner.

During their visit, they were allowed to browse through the mayor's office and even take a seat in his chair. In addition to exciting insights into the mayor's office, the girls and boys also learnt a lot about the city administration. Gerdhenrich explained that around 500 people work for the town of Beckum in various departments - from the public order office, civil engineering and municipal operations to the cultural office and town marketing.

They were surprised to learn that the city is also responsible for two kindergartens, including their own, "Die kleinen Strolche". With this new knowledge, they are even better prepared for the upcoming start of school.
