A whisky walk through Beckum
When stories come to life
Whisky expert and storyteller Philipp from ‘Whisky84Grad’ is bringing the ‘Whisky Walk’ to Beckum on four dates this year – a blend of exercise, exploring the town and mindful enjoyment.
Philipp takes the participants on a leisurely stroll through Beckum. Along the way, they’ll sample six selected Scottish whiskies – some smooth and fruity, others smoky and full-bodied. Each dram (that is, each tasting) is more than just a drink: it opens the door to a story.
That is precisely what this extraordinary city tour is all about: not technical terms or complicated analyses, but what happens when people come together, share a drink and leave their everyday lives behind for a moment.
Philipp has been organising whisky tastings throughout Germany for more than 14 years. He is known for his unique way of bringing whisky to life – in a personal, approachable manner and with a keen eye for those genuine, little moments.
The "Whisky Walk" takes place in Beckum on the following dates:
- Saturday, 30 May, 2 to 5 pm
- Saturday, 30 May, 7 to 10 pm (evening tour)
- Sunday, 4 October, 2 to 5 pm
- Sunday, 6 December, 2 to 5 pm
The tour starts and ends outside St Stephen’s Church. During the walk, which is around four kilometres long, participants can look forward to six Scottish whiskies, each measuring two centilitres; a tasting glass is included. Philipp shares stories about whisky, Scotland and life – and, along the way, participants also get to discover a whole new side to Beckum.
The "Whisky Walk" is aimed equally at beginners and connoisseurs. Each tasting offers a different selection.
