A business idea for Beckum town centre?

The town of Beckum currently still has funds remaining in the ‘Sustainable Town Centres and Local Centres in North Rhine-Westphalia’ funding scheme. This programme offers the opportunity to pay a reduced shop rent during the initial period following a new opening, thereby providing more breathing space to get established at the location.

The aim of the funding programme is to strengthen the city centre in a sustainable manner and to further enhance its appeal. We are looking for creative and forward-looking ideas for new uses that sensibly complement the existing offering and help to revitalise the city centre. Both traditional retail concepts and innovative business models that provide fresh impetus and attract additional visitors to the city centre are welcome.

The scheme is aimed in particular at start-ups, owner-managed specialist shops and businesses with innovative ideas. In addition, chain stores that do not yet have a branch in Beckum and wish to expand their network are also invited to apply. “A vibrant town centre thrives on a diverse and attractive range of offerings. With this support programme, we aim to create targeted incentives so that new ideas and concepts find their way to Beckum and further strengthen the town centre,” emphasises Helga Grothues from the Town Centre Management team at Beckum Town Council. Among those who have taken advantage of this opportunity are Plattenkiste, Mein Almrausch, VALUE-Mode in partnership with PEnT GmbH as an innovative joint project, and Café Lytt.
