Exciting summer holidays right on your doorstep
Events at the Old Power Station
The Altes E-Werk youth centre is once again inviting children and young people to take part in a varied summer holiday programme packed with games, fun and socialising. As well as the drop-in sessions, there are plenty of creative, sporting and social activities on offer to ensure there’s plenty of variety.
To mark the start of the summer holidays, a delicious cocktail event awaits all visitors on 20 July, creating a real holiday atmosphere. Afterwards, dance enthusiasts can practise their first choreographies at a dance workshop from 5 pm to 7 pm. The workshop will continue on Thursday from 3 pm to 5 pm with the same instructor. On Wednesday 22 July, a summery meal will be cooked together from 11 am to 2 pm. The first week of the holidays will round off on Friday with a craft session in collaboration with the City Museum: from 11 am to 2 pm, participants will design their own nine men’s morris game, which they can then take home with them.
During the second week of the holidays, face painting for children will take place for the first time on 29 July from 4 pm to 6 pm. In addition, a sleep-over for young people aged 15 and over will be held from 29 to 30 July, featuring group activities, dinner and breakfast.
During the third week of the holidays, the open youth club will be offering henna painting, amongst other things. A particular highlight is the sleep-over for children aged 6 to 14, featuring a shared dinner, breakfast and lots of group activities.
In the fourth week of the holidays , children aged 6 to 13 will be going on an exciting trip to the German Football Museum in Dortmund.
The youth centre will be closed during the fifth week of the holidays. During this time, the team will be helping out at the holiday play days and is looking forward to welcoming lots of children and families there.
To round off the summer holidays, a trip to Gamebox in Oberhausen is on the programme for young people aged 14 and over during the sixth week of the holidays . The team is also organising a barbecue on 27 August. Finally, on 28 August, the summer holidays will draw to a close with an open get-together and fun water games.
During the summer holidays, the Alte E-Werk will be running its Open Drop-in Centre from 2 pm to 6 pm each day, offering a range of additional small activities alongside its regular programme. Holiday play days from 15 to 21 August (5th week of the holidays)
The Phönix-Team-Beckum e. V. summer holiday programme, organised in partnership with the town of Beckum, will take place at Phönixpark from 15 to 21 August. This popular summer holiday programme is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The children taking part can look forward to a special week’s holiday with a mix of familiar and new outdoor activities, including a campsite and a shuttle service. Leisure House Neubeckum
The Neubeckum Leisure Centre is once again organising workshops and excursions during the summer holidays. The vast majority are already fully booked. Culture Rucksack for 10–14-year-olds
During the final week of the holidays, from 24 to 28 August, ‘colour explorers’ will be at the Neubeckum Leisure Centre as part of the ‘Kulturrucksack NRW’ regional programme. They will be searching for colour materials in the natural world and then using them to create colour charts and works of art.
Off to the outdoor pool
At both outdoor swimming pools, children and teenagers get free entry during the holidays. So let’s go!
