Adult Education Centre Beckum-Wadersloh
Certificates from adult education programmes
Four evenings a week, over four semesters, the participants on the Secondary School Leaving Certificate course at the VHS – most of whom were in full-time employment – studied with great success. Some even achieved their qualification with a special distinction, thereby meeting the requirements for entry to the upper secondary school and, later, the Abitur.
To obtain the Extended Lower Secondary School Leaving Certificate, the participants attended the adult education centre for five mornings a week over three semesters. The study group started with a large number of participants, but gradually dwindled to six people. For them, sticking with it paid off.
In a festive atmosphere, both classes received their graduation certificates from the deputy headteacher, Renate Poker. She paid tribute to the graduates’ achievements with a personal address and shared a few anecdotes from the course.
Despite the sweltering heat, participants and teachers remained in high spirits. During the drinks reception that followed, everyone got together for some pleasant conversation. Special thanks went to the teachers and staff at the Adult Education Centre, whose dedication, patience and support played a key role in the event’s success. The Adult Education Centre team is proud of this achievement and emphasises: “It’s never too late to catch up on your school qualifications.”
With the start of the new school year on 2 September, two courses are starting again: a morning course leading to the First Extended School Leaving Certificate and an evening course leading to the Intermediate School Leaving Certificate. Enrolment is now open. You can arrange a consultation with Renate Poker by calling 02521 29-4202.
